Hi there, I have a problem that’s leaving me confused. Since new my hottub (complete with factory installed ozonator) has never produced bubbles from the ozonator. The dealer who supplied it has tried changing all sorts of new bits, none of which has made any difference. He now tells me that ozonators can be working properly without producing any visible bubbles, and I should stop worrying. Every other dealer, hot tub expert etc I contact tells me that if a gas is passed through water it MUST produce visible bubbles.
I don’t know what to do. Can you help? Hi, sorry for delay. The spa is a “Wizard” Ive never heard of them and cant find any info on the web. I bought it from the internet.
It was fine until it just stopped one day. It is getting power but where it splits from the contactor no power gets through. As I said I think the contactor is there to assist starting heater/pumps but I think it needs to close the circuit to do this but I dont think it is doing it – no power getting to control panel.
Whats the load box? I may find what you want. Any engineers in Surrey you can recommend? Hi Wanda What you need to do is take the front cabinet panel off, look for visible leaks firstly in the equipment bay at the front of the spa which won’t be foamed.
Check pump unions, heaterbasically anywhere where there is a joint between pipework and a piece of equipment. With the level of water loss that you have, a leak should be pretty self-evident if it is in the equipment bay. If there is no leak inside this area start to take the side panels off one by one. Feel the foam from the bottom up and check for dampness.
Once you find an area of wet foam, start to scoop out the soft foam until you reach an area where you can feel hot water. This is where the leak isclean all of the foam from that area and you should then be able to see the leak which could be coming from jet back. Of course what you could also do is to turn the power to the spa off for a few days and let the water level keep dropping.
It will only fall the level of the leak. This will give you a good idea how far up the spa the leak is. Then just a question of finding it. Refill and follow the procedure above to find hot water inside the foam.
Once the leak is located and fixed you can then refoam with specialist foam (local spa dealers should be able to supply the refoaming equipment) or you could always use conventionale loft insulation to refill the gap. I own an older model Balboa (93) with a newer Century lazer 3 hp pump. Digital control panel. The problem is about once a week the panel shows the word FLO.you can hear the motor trying to start.then stops because of the “overheat” protection mode on motor.sounds like the pump is jammed. Have had the wet end completey apart can not see anything motor spins freely in both directions. If I turn the power off and leave it for a day, I can power it back up and it will run fine (on Both speeds)for aweek to 10 days then occurr again, any Ideas?
Hi I have recently obtained a Spaform Oslo which is a 1993 vintage. I understood it worked fine other than a “heating issue”. The hot tub pumps, and does all things it should, however, there are 4 light on the Spaform CP190-1 control box in the back panel. The lower two are “Heater” and Spa Heater” when the “Spa Heater” is light on the water does indeed warm up – but I cannot get the “Heater” light to come on under any condition. 1) is the heater in this Oslo a twin element type – with one element not working perhaps.
And do I need a replacement heater if so what is the model and type, Balboa?? And do you stock it? 2) is there a cp190-1 control box cicuit diagram I can get hold of anywhere – happy to buy it if I can get a “manual” / cicuit diagram.
Thanks Vaughan. My recent bargain purchase of a spaform milano off ebay is turing out to be a very expensive pond. I have now replace both pumps and also the pcb. R nHowever due to my old pcb blowing I have checked the voltages coming out before plugging anything in.
Bella Milano O'fallon
I have 240v coming to the low and high speed of the pump?? R nCan you help me to understand whether the pumps should come live on power up without touching the control panel. R nI have also ordered 2 new m7 sensors as I believe that there resistance was low at 0.04ohms?
Would these cause the live out on low and high speed. R nThe reason for changing the pcb was due to the relay on the old board for the low speed had burnt out. Im guesssing that this is because it was getting a voltage to both low and high. R nThe pcb is a balboa 52604 licensed to spaform sf273.
R nMy kindest thankyou ’s come forthcoming to your reponse. Blog Search. Nick Clamp I am the MD here at WhatSpa and my job is to keep you informed about the very latest hot tubs on the UK market. The best job in the world!
